Elimination of Line Overloads in a Power System Saturated with Renewable Energy Sources

نویسندگان

چکیده

The increasing number of renewable energy sources (RESs) connected to power grids contributes the emergence not only balancing problems but also technical ones, such as overloading lines. If with a high generation level are planned be in area under consideration, then large significant overloads should expected, especially during contingency analysis. As rule, high-voltage networks have mesh topology, which is why concept using advanced mathematical algorithms was developed, help resulting threats can eliminated. This article presents proposal for new method eliminating line and determining currently available nodal levels. Its innovation related capacity grids. efficiency results from appropriately defined response properly selected RES state network congestion. problem consideration illustrated example modified IEEE 118-bus test network. In order eliminate overloads, proposes two-stage approach. first step, that most responsible occurring determined. second metaheuristic algorithm used solve nonlinear optimisation constraints. task involves reducing generated previous step way eliminated, and, at same time, total value curtailed minimal.

Power Management in a Utility Connected Micro-Grid with Multiple Renewable Energy Sources

As an efficient alternative to fossil fuels, renewable energy sources have attained great attention due to their sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly characteristic. However, as a deficiency, renewable energy sources have low reliability because of their non-deterministic and stochastic generation pattern. The use of hybrid renewable generation systems along with the storag...
